Chacchobén is a Mayan archaeological site located near the town of Chacchobén, 60 km from the Mexican Caribbean port costamaya. Since there is no epigraphic evidence of the original name of the site, the name of the Ejido where it is located is used, which refers to "red corn". The site corresponds to the largest settlement reported to date in the area known as the Lakes Region.
